Taolagnaro, or Tolagnaro (also known by its French name Fort Dauphin) is a city in the Toliara Province of Madagascar. It was the first permanent French settlement in Madagascar.
1 Fort Flacourt. A fort built by the French in the 17th century, it is occupied by the Malagasy army and is undergoing renovation. It houses a small museum dedicated to the origin and colonial history of the city. (updated Jul 2026)
