Yanbu, literally "spring", is also known as Yambu or Yenbo. It is part of the Medina Province and serves as a significant industrial and economic hub in the region. In 2022, it was home to more than 330,000 people. Many residents are foreign expatriates working in the oil refineries and petrochemical industry, mostly from Asia, but there are also large numbers from the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
