Yibin (宜宾 Yíbīn) is a city in East Sichuan. Located at the junction of Yunguichuan three provinces, Jinsha River, Min River and Yangtze River, the terrain is high southwest and low northeast, is a subtropical monsoon humid climate, with a total area of 13,283 square kilometers. As of October 2022, the city had three municipalities and seven counties. By the end of 2022, the city's resident population was 4.618 million.
Yibin sits at the confluence of the Jinsha, Min, and Yangtze Rivers, a location that has supported human settlement for thousands of years. Known historically as “Xufu,” it became an administrative center during the Han Dynasty(c.2nd century BCE-2nd century CE,China’s Han period) and served as a key military and transport post on the empire’s southwestern frontier. By the Tang and Song Dynasties(c.7th-13th century CE,China’sTang-Song period), river trade and the salt industry had turned Yibin into a regional commercial hub. During the Ming and Qing periods(c.14th-19th century CE,China’s Ming-Qing period), Yibin prospered as an important Yangtze River port.

Jiangbei Park (江北公园, Floating Wine Cup Brook Park 流杯池公园) (The park can be reached by the number 4 bus from the city centre). Located in the Jiangbei district in the north of the city, the park was once home to the Song Dynasty poet Huang Tingjian. Most services only go as far as Chang Ning (¥16.5) where you will have to change buses for Wangli village at the west gate of the park (¥5). There is also now a tour bus that leaves from Nan An station. It leaves around 8.30 or 9.00 - they will wait for the bus to fill. The journey costs ¥20 each way.
