Yiwu (义乌; *ȵi u* in Wu, Yìwū in Mandarin) is a county-level city of Jinhua in central Zhejiang Province, roughly 100 km south of Hangzhou. It is world-famous for Yiwu International Trade City, the global hub for small commodity wholesale. Yiwu is a vibrant commercial centre that attracts traders from every corner of the globe. It grew quickly from a quiet agricultural county into an international marketplace starting in the 1980s.
